CDF Munir, US lawmakers discuss regional security and economic cooperation

ISLAMABAD: A US congressional delegation called on Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ, where both sides discussed regional security, defence ties and avenues for enhanced economic collaboration, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

The delegation comprised Ryan Keith Zinke, Member House of Representatives (State of Montana) and Michael James, Member House of Representatives (State of Washington), the military’s media wing said.

During the meeting, discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defence cooperation and avenues for enhancing economic collaboration and prosperity.

Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan’s vast economic potential, emphasising that sustainable regional stability was deeply anchored in economic growth, trade expansion and connectivity.

He underscored Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms aimed at fostering a business-friendly environment and attracting foreign investment.
